Susan Zubik, CCP, born and raised in Chicago, where she started cooking by watching the neighborhood Italian mothers, Susan began her love for food and the culinary arts. Following a move to Arizona, where she received her bachelor's degree in Computer Science, she relocated to the Los Angeles area where she began food-related endeavors after obtaining her MBA.
Susan then attended the Westlake Culinary Institute. Following the completion of the Professional Chef's Training course she began to work at the school, assisting the chefs, authors, and teachers that visited. Susan became the assistant catering director for the catering program run through the school, and eventually began teaching classes. During the five years spent at Let’s Get Cookin’ she worked and assisted over 300 classes taught by many renowned chefs/teachers and took the best methods from all of them, which she now presents to her students. She has also taken courses in Catering, Professional Pastries, and has been to classes at the Ritz Hotel and Cordon Bleu, in Paris.
Susan then moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where she developed recipes and the menu for an Italian restaurant. She also performed Public Relations related work for Proctor and Gamble’s Bounty Paper Towels, and continued to teach.
She now resides in the Oklahoma City area, and is currently freelance writing and teaching. She has previously appeared on “Carol Cooks,” a local cooking show, and “The Gabby Gourmets” radio program. She is a registered ServSafe Instructor and Proctor for the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation and is the Treasurer for the Oklahoma City chapter of the American Culinary Federation (ACF). She has been a judge for the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) Cookbook awards.
Susan is a Certified Culinary Professional (CCP) and a member of the IACP, as well as a member of the ACF.
